Today we discussed how to find the total SURFACE AREA of a THREE-DIMENSIONAL object. This measures the total area of the outside of the shape. We started by looking at examples of various NETS that represent the UNFOLDED version of a THREE-DIMENSIONAL shape. Use the visual aid below to remind you what each 3D shape looks when folded out into its corresponding NET.
