Today we discussed symbols and how ideas, feelings, and information can be represented by physical objects or pictures. In our Jamboard we described a set of symbols that we commonly use everyday and what their true meanings were. We also picked a symbol of our own and described its true meaning. You are going to do the same thing for homework in the google form below. Please use today’s Jamboard and the notes below to help guide you answers.



Symbolism –  is when a picture, object, color, etc. is used to represent another idea. Authors rely on the meaning of symbols to help communicate their message to readers.
